Arisaka disassembly
I've looked all over the internet trying to find a way to disassemble a arisaka rifle. Where could i find more information?

For the bolt, just hold it in one hand, press in on end shroud with the palm of the other and turn. Otherwise, if it has a slotted screw head, unscrew it. Mine doesn't have a bolt shroud, so I'm not sure how to remove those. 0 -
To remove bolt. Open action, pull bolt to rear. Pull open bolt release lever on left rear of action. Pull bolt rearward and out of action. The dust cover will come with it.
To disassemble bolt. 1st. make note of safety indicator notch position. Hold bolt firmly in hand. Place palm of other hand on safety knob, push in, rotate to right. On reassemble, MAKE CERTAIN safety notch is incorrect position before re-inserting bolt into rifle. Or action may lock up. Requiring COMPLETE disassembly of rifle to fix.
Since I assume you are talking about the rifles from another pst brought home by your grandfather. I would discourage you from attemptig to take the actions out of the stocks. The Japanese DID NOT intend for soldiers to disassemble rifles past bolt removal. And unless someone post war has previously disasembled past that point the action screws are STAKED. You will notice a punch mark on the egde of bolt head and screw hole. THis will make screw removal EXTREMELY difficult. Requiring a hammer-diver to break them loose. And you will certainly bugger up the screw heads. Removal of these screws will lesson the collector value of your rifles.
I know you're thinking that the metal finish under the stock probably looks as bad as the exposed metal. I can tell you w/great confidence that this is NOT the case. In all probability, the blueing under the stock is likely nearly pristine.
Re-inserting bolt w/dust cover is tricky, but simple once you learn how. With bolt handle pointed UP. extractor to right side,sfety notch in 10 oclock position. Insert bolt bolt face w/DC in place over bolt into rear of action. Insert just far enough for lugs and extractor rail to barely engage w/corresponding slots. Now start the DC into the grooves on each side outside of receiver. When all is lined up, pull open bolt release levers, push bolt in.
It will go in as far a magazine follower which you must drepress manually to fully close bolt.
