S&W Model 10 bullets in chamber question

S&W Model 10 2" snub. When loaded with both A Zoom snap caps and real cartridges, the snaps and cartridges both rattle around a little in the chamber. Not sideways but front to back. Rattles both in safe mode and full lock up. Is this typical of the model 10?

  I should add that only two of the cartridges rattle. The two in the chambers closest to the cylinder release where the frame is lipped on the left side. Cartridges on the right side don't rattle.

  A few .000's of fore-and-aft play of unfired cartridges is normal. The extra play on the left side is due to the ramp that is used for the basepin to ride on when the cylinder is closed. Hope I helped. Joe

  You made me look. Mine is a pre-model 10 but I presume they are about the same.
  If you open the cylinder it should be obvious why they can rattle
  more on the left side. There is a little movement on the other chambers as well but it is obvious the rear of the cartridge is more supported on the other chambers.

  I have 3 model 10's and about 80 other Smith revolvers, they all do that. The rounds are supposed to fit loosely to aid in loading and unloading.

  Normal.
  
  As mentioned, not just for the model 10, but just about every other Smith revolver I've ever seen.
  
  The only time they DON'T rattle, is if the chambers are dirty, or after the cases expand from firing.
