Dakota Arms and Nesika Bay

You might want to keep an eye out for some upcoming industry news about these companies. Both were owned together, are in bankruptcy and have been for sale very recently. The scuttlebutt has it that Remington will buy them up and extend their expertise to the upper end rifle and shotgun market. This comes at a time when Remington has foregone the attempt to overcome the Winchester market by distributing the Mark X barreled actions and for who knows what reason, bringing in the Russian and Turkish shotguns/double rifles.

Nothing is cast in stone but this is the mumblings going on in the back rooms.

    That is unfortunate for Dakota, and Nesika Bay. I know that Dakota lacked the bean counters to screw up its production of fine rifles. I would hope that Big Green does not screw this up by letting the bean counters take over production. It would be a breath of fresh air for them actually as they will once again be able to offer what rifles of what their custom shop used to be, along with a now cartridge line of short magnums.

    BTW; nononsense...that is very nice work in that picture on your signature line!

    Yes, it was the owner of the investment company which owned those companies that screwed up Dakota and Nesika. He is an idiot, squared! But, he's getting his comeuppance currently. Most of his private holdings are being called in so it looks like he will lose most of his houses, cars, race tracks, etc.

    Thank you for looking at the signature photograph. Unfortunately, I can't take credit for the work as it was done by Dumoulin-Herstal as a showpiece. I don't show my work since that could be construed as being advertising. But it's nice to show some examples of what I consider to be good work or just some interesting stuff!
