Benjiman Franklin air gun

Looking for any information (value, year, parts, etc) for a brass barreled ben franklin air gun given to me by my grandfather. It has 344 stamped on the rear end of the barrel and punps out the other end.
Very unique. I have searched the internet and can't find any information on this gun. I was told it's for BB's not pellets by grandpa.
Please advise!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
