S&W PPK Recall

I received an email from S&W yesterday stating that on Msy 18 they finally started fixing their backlog of PPKs sent in for the recall.. If one is sent in now, expect a 6 to 8 week turnaround.

    sorry, but that's what you get for buying non-German Walthers.

    My German-made PP's, PPK, PPK/s', P38's P5's, P1, P88, P99 and P22 function w/o a hitch.

    +1 for PBJloaf! Never had a problem with German made PPk's...or any other German made weapon for that matter. Stick with the best..you will never go wrong. Don't be fooled. Good shooting!

    Never say never.
    Had a CIC man come into the FECOM 7th div small arms shop in '53-54 with a PP or PPK 380 that had obviously fired when the safety was applied.
    As I recall, the safety drum had some shake and a link between safety and sear was broken. It was a challenge as I never heard of hammer drop safeties. That was probably a good thing.
    With a little sweat,I worked out a link that locked the hammer back.
    He was unhappy with the result and never even came up with a thank you.
    Usually, such a favor was worth a couple of cases of beer.
    This was clearly a wartime German pistol.
    CIC men were not visibly armed nor showed any mark of rank other than a US on each collar.
    While it was his duty weapon, I had no obligation to fix or cause to have fixed, a foreign small arm.
    Till recently no one believed the story.
    I had a personal Remington 51 at the time and felt it was a better pocket gun.
    Be careful.

    Just got my PPK back Friday. S&W received it on 3/24/09. Haven't had time to shoot it but plan to this week.

    this is an email I rec. still haven't got my ppk/s

    Repairs will begin on Friday May 8th. There was a delay in receiving parts from our vendors. The turn around time will be 3-4 weeks from that date.
