Remington 241 .22
I have a Remington Speedmaster 241 that my father gave me a few years ago. I recently found out that this is an old gun (it looks brand-new!) and it is a take-down rifle (thanks to your members). How can I find out when this gun was made? The barrel date stamp is AUU. Thanks for your help.

A stands for March and UU indicates manufacture in 1949. 0 -
Any idea of the value of this gun? It has a couple of minor scratches on the stock and a couple of minute rust spots on the barrell. Otherwise it looks brand-new, not 50 yrs old. I hope I look 1/2 that good when I turn 50![:)] 0 -

The best appraisal is to go to the gunbroker auction and do a search for model 241's on the completed auctions. All that is meaningful are the actual bids or actual sales. Minimum starting bids are worthless as to estimating value.0
