WALTHER P38, 1943 MAUSER
Is there a Walther P38 expert out there that can help me value that pistol? byf 43, indicating Mauser made in 1943, s/n 4755, Eagle 135 on the frame. Original ridged holster.

byf43 is a very common P.38. It has four numbered parts that must match. Slide, barrel, frame, and locking block.
You can look on the auction side for actual bids to aid you.0 -
lewis1939...lots of P38 experts out here, but hard to tell what you have without good photos. Do the external and internal #'s match? Condition of the pistol? What about the magazine(s)? Wartime mags with Waffan acceptance or aftermarket? Just too hard to tell w/o photos but standard P38 shooters go in the range of $350-$500. What do you mean about a "original ridged holster?" What is the date and maker of the holster? What kind of condition is the leather in? What is the history of the weapon...in other word, what is its provanance? Do you know how it was captured? So you see, lots of questions, but not many answers from your description. Super good condition p38 holsters with a maker/year numbered (1943) to the gun could make it more valuable to a collector. Some go in the $100-300+ range depending on condition. Heck, Waffen stamped mags could go as high a $100+! So, lots of questions back to your one sentence description. Suggest you put it under the glass to completly check out what you have. From your description, however, it sounds as if you have a byf subvariation #1 of which Mauser made @162,000 in 1943.Good shooting! 0
