barrel check?

on another board there was a post about checking condition of a barrel using a round of ammo.
so, here's my garand with a round in it.
what does it tell me about the condition of the barrel?

  this is my first garand and i really didn't know what to look for or what to ask the seller.
  according to the other thread, 1/4" means an excellent barrel condition. that makes me happy.
  this was supposed to be a "service grade" CMP gun.
  the seller said he shot about 200 rounds thru it.
  now that i have one i think i need more!
