Colt Defender Grip Safety

I just bought a new Colt Defender and want to change out the grip safety - the flat beavertail tye puts my hand very low and is not contoured to the grip tang. I'm looking at two solutions. Either a very short "no beavertail type" skinny type similar to the old Commander or an aftermarket drop in. I was told the Caspian would work, it doesn't.

Has anyone replaced theirs and can offer an alternative to the factory?

    check with the TECH department at Brownells not the order dept. these guys know their stuff and stock more brands of parts for colt auto's then anyone else I know.

    be sure to shoot it soon,had mine for 5 days,traded it at the gun show,would only charge maybe 2 times out of 6...bullet would/try to go in sideways...(dealer said he would send it back to colt)
