Any Updated Info on the Bushmaster M17S?

I have read the only three threads on this rifle here and the last one was in 2004.

I am seriously considering one of these because I want a bullpup but can't afford a Steyr AUG or Microtech STG-556.

I understand that there are some factory mods available for some of the earlier models that had some quality control issues that caused slam-firing, etc.

Any reviews from owners or other observations out there?

    we sent one back cause it would burp right out of the box

    I bought one and planed on sending it too kurts custom, its been rotting in my closet now for about a 10 months forgotten.. I shot it some with a red dot, it was reliable and accurate.. But she gets hot quick.


    Ohh damn, I just found out Kurt has died when looking for his businesses link, I talked to him about a year ago. He was a good guy.

    Yeah, I read it while looking for his home page, It was talking about his replacement chargeing handle for the M-17, and said he had passed. As you can see from his work he was a brilliant designer..[:(][:(]

    I've had a couple of them ... no problems, heavy but consistant trigger, only drawback is extended range peroid, forend gets hot, needs a foregrip, but thats easy enough to fix.

    I'm not aware of any factory mods but check out http://www.kurtskustomfirearms.citymax.com/page/page/42606.htm ... good, practical mods but from what I hear they are a little pricy ... you can get some good idea's from his site.
