glock/sigma

i have been constantly told they are carbon copies, and looking in the case a the last show they seem to be alike, but have not had a glock i was able to strip to compare
does anyone know if the dovetail and front post mount of the glock will fit (at least with minor adjustment) on the sigma slide?
looking for fiber-optic sights for a sigma and none are available for that model without the double priced tritium
however plain fiber are plentiful for the glock[:(!]

    The ORIGINAL prototype Sigmas violated Glock patents related to the trigger. Glock sued and S&W changed it.

    They are not carbon copies........not even close.

    The *DESIGN* is similar (though not identical).

    Similar enough that Smith and Wesson settled a copyright lawsuit from Glock out of court.

    But the parts do NOT interchange. Not the magazines, frames, slides, barrels, or any other part I am aware of.

    I strongly doubt the sights will interchange either, though perhaps an enterprising gunsmith could alter the front dovetail on a Sigma to take stock Glock sights.

    Alternatively, its likely possible to alter a Glock sight to fit a Sigma pistol.

    The front sight for a Glock might be modified to fit the Sigma.
    You can measure the rear dovetail and find a sight that is close and file it down to fit. I've done this for a higher rear sight for my Beretta that was shooting low for me.

    just had a glock come in the shop today with a pair of tritium sights he wants mounted!
    front post base is about .012 larger than the stock hole in the sigma slide, no problem
    the rear dovetail is too narrow by roughly .025, so it could be made work with a shim
