I'd add the following, which is non-obvious and not trivial:
a. With such a low power round, you're better off using the heaviest bullet possible for better penetration. With a .22LR that means a solid 40 grain bullet. There is a specialty "Subsonic Sniper" 60 grain bullet available from Aguila, but I don't have enough experience with it to recommend it.
b. Contrary to popular belief the "hypervelocity" .22s (like CCI stingers, etc) do NOT deliver better velocity energy than ordinary .22s from a pistol.
The reason is that these rounds develop their extra speed in part by using light bullets and slow burning powders that require a full rifle-length barrel to accelerate the bullet.
From a rifle, they sizzle, but from a short pistol barrel, much of the slow burning powder ends up getting burned outside the barrel after the bullet has left. This adds muzzle flash (which is non-desireable), and significant cost, but NOT meaningful velocity.
If you check the actual ballistics data, the best .22 rounds from a really short barrel tend to be (suprisingly enough) ordinary cheap all lead solid 40 grain target rounds!0 -
The best ammo to use in your NAA .22LR is the "Stinger." I did a lot of research to come to this load for this tiny little firearm. Just stick with Stingers, and you'll be doing the best you can for the NAA. 0 -

Did you research involve actually chronographing loads from real guns, or just reading other people's opinions? See above.
According to NAA's published data, using actual loads chronographed from actual NAA guns, the CCI Stinger does NOT deliver the best ballistics from these short barreled guns.
Specifically, the CCI Stingers averaged 800 fps for a 32 grain bullet from the 1-5/8" barrel.
In comparison, the Federal Gold medal target ammo, which uses a sold all lead 40 grain bullet, yields an average of 750 fps. As another relvant comparison, the CCI Velocitor, which uses a hollowpoint 40 grain bullet, yields 767 fps.
In other words, the Federal target shoots a bullet that is 25% heavier than the Stinger, but only 6-2/3% slower. From this particular gun the "ordinary" target ammo actually yields more momentum AND more kinetic energy! The CCI Velocitors do a little bit better yet.
Factor in that heavier bullets are more desirable for defensive use because of their greater penetration, and that Federal target ammo is cheaper than premium CCI ammo, and I'd say the Federal target is a better choice.
Even though they are a hair faster, its not clear to me that the Velocitor rounds are better than the Federal Target loads, as they use hollow point bullets that might somewhat limit penetration. But they still should be better than the Stingers.
If you want another more straighforward example, the Remington Yellow jackets shoot a bullet 3% heavier than the Stinger (33 grain vs 32 grain) 5% faster (843 fps vs 800 fps). By the numbers, those are better, plus I think they are also cheaper.
I'd love to see the numbers here for Aguila's 60 grain "Subsonic Sniper" ammo from the short barrel. These yield roughly 950fps from a rifle, and I've seen 800fps quoted from an ordinary 6" pistol. If this could get anywhere near 700fps from the mini-revolver it ought to be a clear winner with its 50% heavier bullet.0 -
