22 LR bullet uniformer
Anyone ever tried a Neal Waltz 22LR bullet uniformer? If so I would like to hear what you thought? Was it worth the money?

Hello I am not current on the brand you are asking about and how it works However I have 2 different brands that measure rim thickness . nothing to do with the bullet itself. . if i take either of my units and say by Cheap ammo and then sort by rim thickness it shows a BIG difference in group size from those that are not sorted. If you buy HIGH END ammo then you will find that very few rounds will vary from the normal. My take is the cheaper the ammo the more improvement you can see when you sort them. Hope this helps. 0 -

High end match specific ammo like Tenex, Lapua, Fiocchi, RWS, etc are extremely uniform and have such slight variances right out of the box that I never saw the need for these devices. If you are an Olympic class match shooter looking to wring out the very last advantage in all of your equipment then by all means go for it, otherwise I'm not convinced of the need.
Ammo in the RWS class (shown with my own Walther GSP) is highly uniform as it comes from the factory:

Who has time for that? Does more harm than good I suspect. I get 1 in groups at 100 yds with my Savage MKII with several brands of ammo just as they come out of the box. One brand is a bulk pack, Federal Auto Match, can't beat it for the price in my bolt gun. Shoots almost as good as the high dollar Fiocci Match. 0 -
