Marlin XLR 410 Shotgun Question?

I would appreciate any information on the Marlin XLR 410 shotgun.
It is not in the Marling catalog.
What was the production run, if known?

    I heard that Cabelas ordered the production, but not sure.

    I know they only have 2.5" chambers only if that helps

    I called Marlin and they confirm that the XLR was a special order from Cablelas, but would not release the production numbers.

    The one I saw was at Whitakers Guns, which is near Owensboro, KY. It had a salt-and-pepper stock.

    I have 2 of the original run in in the gray laminate stock. In my opinion it looks better than the Brown laminate that is in the current run. That being said the original run with the gray laminate stock was 300-350 according to Marlin and for Accusport the ones that Cabelas is carrying is the blued with wood stock. I shot a doe last season with my first one at 40yds and she ran about 30yds and dropped. I am still considering getting a brown laminate stocked one for myself because the other 2 are now for the boys when they get old enough and I am considering having them engraved for them as well. if you get one the winchester super x slugs work great in mine. I have a Winchester 9410 that shoots terribly with them just not enough time to try something else yet.
