Remington 870 & 1100 stock swap

I have a Remington 870 12 ga with a ribbed 26" skeet barrel and conventional pistol grip wood stock. I see Numrich has a Remington straight grip stock for the model 1100.
My question is: can I swap an 1100 straight grip stock with the 870 pistol grip stock without getting into wood fitting issues?

  short answer...no. the 1100 has a main spring tube that the stock attaches to, the 870 just a stock bolt. 'Can' it be made to fit...possibly.

  Thanks for the reply. Maybe I'll get a used 870 wood stock and try my hand at woodworking on the pistol grip...

  I have a 870 straight stocked gun for sale on the auction. Buy the gun and switch the butt stock and resell the pistol grip gun.
