serial # info

lever action
I have a 32 Winchester special Model 94, serial #1042677 and a Model 1895 30-06, serial #411863. I would appreciate any information related to age and/or value of these rifles. Thank you

    Hello if you look at the first few post on this forum STICKY you will see the name BERT H he has knowledge and records on many Winchesters. You can find the information on AGE there However put yourself in our place if we asked you I have a black Chev. with a V8 what is it worth [V] . Value does have something to do with age and Caliber it shoots but condition either with a HANDS-ON inspection or DETAILED IN FOCUS CLOSE UP PICTURES OF EACH AND EVERY PART OF BOTH RIFLES is the only way that any value from any of us can be more then a WILD A** GUESS. There is also a sticky on the top of these forums This is tricky if you are not good with computers . you can very easily put both guns up for sale with easy to post pictures and a very high $100,000.00 reserve and then come back here and ask for value by stating the auction number.     Hello lever action,

    Your Model 94 serial numner 1042677 was manufactured in the very early months of the year 1929. If you remove the forend stock and magazine tube, look on the bottom of the barrel (very near where it enters the receiver frame), you will find a 2-digit year number stamped into the barrel... most likely it will be "28" but it could be "29".

    Most of the Model 94s that were made during that timeframe were Saddle Ring Carbines (SRC)... is that what you have?

    The value can only be deteremined by a hands on evaluation, or a detailed set of quality pictures.

    Your Model 95 is a late production gun. I do not have the records for the Model 1895/95, but estimate it to be a 1924/25 production gun. The exact configuration (Sporting Rifle, Carbine, or Musket) will affect what the collector value ultimately will be. Of significant importance on the 30-06 chambered Model 1895/95s, is the condition of the frame (headspace). Many of them are found with unacceptable headspace due to being shot with hot handloads. If the headspace is not within tolerance, you have a parts gun.
