DOM S&W Mod. 60

Can someone help with the DOM of a S&W Mod. 60, Serial number: 54188, no prefix.

Any help appreciated.

  The model 60 was introduced in 1965 and the "R" prefix in the serial numbers began in 1969, so for now between 65 & 69. I'll dig a little deeper to try to narrow it down.

  The Smith & Wesson Model 60, 38 Chief's Special Stainless was first introduced in 1965 with serial number in the 410,000 range. At the time of introduction, they were numbered in the same series as the Model 36 Chief's Special. In 1969 they started an 'R' prefix number sequence for the M60 & M651.
  
  The number you posted only has 5 digits & may be an assembly number.
  
  The correct & complete serial number will appear on the bottom of the grip frame. Please check & repost the number there with any letters before or after so we can help.
