Marlin 1894

I have a Marlin 1894 in 32 20. I was using it today and it quit firing. a couple of small pieces came out of the reiciever. One is a thin piece about an inch long and the other is a 1/4 " piece that looks like it may have broken off????

Any thoughts? Are they as easy as a Winchester to work on?

    I have a marlin 1894 44mag it will not feed right the leaver will go back about 1/2 way and lock up. I replaced the loading gate and the mag tube flower. any help?

    I'll assume this is one of the newer m-94's, the 'scoring' can be causer by a sharp edge or burr on the chamber, headspace can be 'tightend' with a new bolt or locking block. I've worked on several of the newer marlins (and a few old ones too), and headspace was always a little 'loose' on them. not out of spech., just not to min. standards.

    We need to see a picture of the scoring on the brass to tell you what it is caused from.

    What caliber and what model 1894 is this?

    update on the marlin

    Its a 44 mag. older one

    but the headspace was fine seems it had 44 spl shot though it and left a ring which was causing the scoring

    the buyer emailed me back and said everythings ok it just needs a good soaking

    guess its not a good ideal to shoot 44 spl in a 44 mag.

    It is OK, just like shooting 22 short in a 22 LR, or a 38 spl. in a 357 magnum. You just have to clean them when you are done...well it is something that should be done anyway when one is done shooting.

    I cleaned it after shooting 44mags but I guess not knowing that the 44spl were shot in it I did not clean it as well as I needed.
