BRNO Mauser
Hi All,
I recently acquired a really nice old BRNO mauser. It appears to be in 8mm, with a straight bolt. SN# E3961. Certainly a mixmaster but lovely with nice tiger striped walnut, gray metal and a beautiful bore. Other than the SN#, there is CESKOSLOVENSKA ZBROJOVKA =BRNO= on the ring and the sight graduations are ?maybe Cyrillic? Any educated ideas on this one? Age? TIA.

Sounds like you might have a Czech 98/22 mauser. I have one of these, and like yours, my rear sight has odd numbers. The reasons for this is the BRNO sold a lot of these to various groups and nations.
Farsi, Kurd, and Turk numbering and marking are especially common.0
