Shooting slugs in a Mossberg 500 bullpup:Help
Hello,I own a Mossberg 500 bullpup 12 gauge and I was curious as to whether or not I'd be able to fire slugs out of it.I don't really know what kind of choke it has,if that makes a difference.My second question is can shotgun slugs be fired out of any shotgun barrel or does one need a specific barrel ? Thank you for your help.

that shotgun should have a cylinder bore and yep you can shoot slugs out of it. 0 -
Was that standard on this type of shotgun ? I have very little info on it and was unsure if I could fire slugs in it. 0 -
that is a defense style shotgun and most shotguns meant for defense are cylinder bore. You can of course use any choke for defense if thats all ya got. 0 -
Standard rifled slugs SHOULD safely shoot thru any choke, with the exception of Extra Full (found on a very few turkey or turkey shoot guns) or variable chokes, such as the C-lect-choke, or a choke setup that the maker says DON'T DO THIS! Best accuracy seems to come from Modified choke, but your mileage may vary.
For folks in doubt, try this- cut a slug shell and remove the slug. DROP it thru your barrel. They will slide right thru. Slugs are not only a tad undersized for the bore, but the hollow soft lead slug will squeeze down if it has to. Otherwise, there would be a small mountain of blown up shotguns out there.0
