Night sights on a XD-40?

What do you think it would cost to have night sights installed on an XD-40? I asked my local gunsmith and he said the XD sights are a bear to drift out and I should send it back to Springfield and let them do it.

  Actually, it is your best bet to contact Springfield for this. They have a REALLY GOOD custom shop in Genesseo, Illinois where they are head quartered. Right on I-80 near Iowa border. Also, your owner's manual states you should send to them for sight adjustment etc. as it does take a special tool to change them safely and be warranted. Call them on the phone, really nice and helpful people.

  They are a bear to get out! If you have a sight pusher it is a relatively simple proceedure. Usual price is cost of the sights and $35-$40.
