Unless the rifle is pre-1994 (pre ban) the old AW post ban restrictions on stocks, bayonet lugs, threaded barrels, flash hiders, ect. will still apply to sales in New York State. 0 -
Nope, it's not legal in NY State. It can't have two or more of the banned features (telescoping stock, bayonet lug, flash suppressor, etc.) plus possession of those high-cap mags is a felony. 0 -

My mags are Colt 20rd'ers. Last known manufacture date for these magazines is 1979. Magazines are grandfathered by date of manufacture in New York, correct?
Having them in a later AR type rifle doesn't matter, because magazines are grandfathered, no matter what rifle they are used in, correct? Joe0 -

Yes. And the legality of posession is quite simple, actually. You have to register your long guns in NYC. You will be denied registration if you can't have it in your posession. No gray area.
