what kind of guns?

anyone know what kind of guns these are? value? i just inherited them. thanks

    Well, the first is a muzzleloading percussion cap pistol- can't see enough detail to tell if it is an original, or a reproduction. Any markings on the barrel or lock?

    The second one is a pinfire revolver- neither rimfire like a 22, nor centerfire like a 38. Each cartridge had it's own firing pin. Possibly French- the Lefaucheaux company made a lot of them. Again, any markings on the weapon?

    IF that is ELG it is a Belgian.

    I suspect the percussion muzzleloader is origianal, but it appears not to be a very fine example, built for use rather than display in a velvet lined box. Somehow the inlaid mop suggests to me it was not US built.

    it could very well say ELG. Perhaps the bottom part of the L came off somehow. but the way the letters are standing next too each other would make me think that the I should definitely be an E

    That's definitely the "ELG" Belgian proofmark.

    The percussion looks like it's ether been restocked or assembled from old parts with a home made stock.

    The Pinfire appears to be one of the larger calibers. They were made in great quantity in Belgium from approximately 1860's to the 1880's.

    Both are in pretty rough condition unfortunately, not going to be worth a lot. Just conversation pieces or decorators over somebodys mantle.
