ruger super redhawk
I was looking at the Super Redhawk in 454 Casull and 45 Colt. I know the 454 has alot of knockdown power, how does the 45 colt do as a hunting round? I was thinking of deer or hog hunts. I've never shot either round, I've shot lots of 44mag. though. Thanks.

The other day in a local gun/bait shop there was a Super Redhawk with a 9.5" barrel and a red dot scope for $370 in good condition. I didn't buy it, and I'm kicking myself in the butt for it. I can always save money later. I'm thinking of going back to get it if they still have it. $370 is a lot cheaper than I've seen them anywhere, is it that good of a price? 0 -
The mainspring is full power? I've always read that rifle primers are a bit harder than pistol primers, but with a full strength hammer and one that falls as heavy as the Ruger (I have a Redhawk in 44 Mag) I'd be a bit surprised if it made a difference - never tried it so I could be way off and that they work in the Smith handgun would indicate harder promers aren't the cause.
Cartridge is fully seated in the Ruger chamber? No dirt or lead bullet just barely sitting up against the front edge of the chamber?0
