Your impression of Cobray M-10, M-11.

Are they accurate, reliable?

Does the internal bolt system fell different during fireing from a coventional auto?

I have been considering buying one in .380acp to play with, but was wondering if they are worth the money.

    I had one of the old open bolt M 11 .380's, years ago. It was unreliable and dangerous. Couldn't get rid of it quick enough. The trigger pull was poor because of the open bolt mechanism. Accuracy wise it was strictly a spray and pray gun.

    Nowadays though the pre 1982 open bolt guns, are worth big bucks to the gunshop commandoes. If you can get into one that isn't papered, at the right price you never lose any money on it.

    I bought a used Cobray M-11 a couple of months before the '94 ban. Horrible trigger, useless sights. Looked cool and I didn't have any jams. You could hit the side of a hill with it if you were close enough. Sold it for a mint after the ban. I wouldn't buy another.

    I had a Cobray CM11 for about two months. It was a total pile of excrement.

    a neighbor had a 9mm one back in the 80's and you couldn't hit the broadside of a barn with it at 25 yards. It was reliable just not accurate--but then I don't know that a gun like that would even be accurate.

    The ones I have seen have peep sights, i doubt if that is conductive to accuracy.

    Went to a machine gun shoot in Feb. Guy had a papered FA 9mm. Looked like fun. I don't know the details of it but he had a new upper receiver on it.

    I wouldn't buy a semi one nor would I buy one in 380.

    You're better off with a Glock 17 or 19 with the factory Glock 33 rd mags.

    Mine fired once out of battery and pieces of brass went everywhere including into my arm. I sold it and bought a Glock 17. It does everything a Cobray will do, and is much safer. I have to add that part of the Cobray's problem was that I was using a "hell-fire" rapid fire device on the trigger. I have since bought another Cobray in the carbine style and have had no problems with it at all.
