Barrett 99A1 Ammunition

I am wondering what ammo is going to work the best with my rifle? I have the 99A1 .50 I understand that some ammo works with the model 82 but doesn't work with the 99 can anyone help me pick which ammo is the best for my rifle?!? Thanks.......

    I don't understand the question. The 99A1 is a single shot rifle, and anything that will work in the M-82 will work in the 99.

    I've got a Model 95, and M-33 Ball is pretty much all I feed it. There are some specialty rounds that will not fit in the magazine due to their overall length, but even these should work in the 99.

    Lately there is quite a bit of American Eagle (Federal) M-33 available. Sportsman's guide and Cabelas have had it in stock for a while. New production, under $ 4.00 a round (delivered) from Sportsman's guide, around $ 4.25 at Cabalas.

    Alright so any .50bmg round will work with the 99?

    Check the barret Site and see what they recommend. I did read something that said what shot best in which one but cannot remember were I read it.

    Obviously you have to be careful with making general statements. It was stated that any ammo that works in the 82 will work in your 99.

    You can buy hotter ammo than the M-33 that the Barrett is designed around, and as dnelson stated, you would need to talk to Barrett before using a hotter round.
