41 Magnum Value

I recently acquired a S&W 41 Magnum 6" Blued Model 57 in a trade and was trying to find out what its worth. It came in a wood box that has plastic tray with no "velvet" liner. The serial number appears to be N774XXX, it looks as if the N was partially stamped over the first 7. The previous owner has a tag on it that says 1964 Model 57. It has a very wide trigger and the sights are red up front and white on the rear. Can any one tell me the value on this?

    That should be a 6.5" barrel I believe.

    Original target grips would help the value, but as an avid 41 Magnum owner I'll agree - at least $500.00 and a good deal more if you happen to be in California where they're harder to get.

    Noticed one with a 4" barrel sold on auction for $965 recently. I guess the 4" barrell is quite popular. Some fellows are protecting them at over $1100. Blue seems most popular.

    Model 57s seem to be very hot items right now. If you listed it on gunbroker I would not be surprised to see it sell for $800 to $900.
