victor shotgun disassembly

guys and gals,

I am trying to disassemble a Victor, single shot 12 gauge. The forend comes off easy enough. When I break the action open, it will not tip off the receiver/buttstock. There is an anvil-looking piece of metal that bumps the receiver forward of where the hinge pin goes through. It has bludgeoned the receiver over the years. Any body have an idea how I can pull the barrel off?
