german revolver

I have a revolver marked EIG MODEL E357 GERMANY under the grips. Any information on this gun?

    I just inhertited a cal 22 short 6 shot revolver made in germany. It has an eagle stamped just in front and on the barrel with an 'N' underneath. also in front of the barrel there is the number 65 with what looks like maybe a four-pointed moose or deer antler to the right and 'valor' on the handle.
    I don't know anything about guns, really. It was my grandfather's gun and the rest of my family didn't want it, so they gave it to me. I just want a little info on the gun if anyone can furnish it--maybe where it was made and when. He was overseas in WWII, but i don't really know where he got it.

    The PIC revolver is attributed in my reference to the West German firm of Gerstenberger and Eberwein. It probably was imported during the mid to late 60's time frame. This was before the enactment of the Gun Control law of 1968, which effectively stoperd the importation of many of the inexpensive revolvers made in West Germany.

    There is little collector interest/demand for these revolvers. Many of them made by various West German manufacturers show up on the auctions. Check the actual selling prices to get a ball park value for yours.

    The Rossi-produced Model 92, in .454 Cassul is still in production. The "problem" has been the ongoing comsumption of the Rossi company, in Brazil, by Taurus Forge, also in Brazil. Just about all things labled "Rossi" are now produced under Taurus management. Taurus bought Rossi, and that caused a shift in the U.S. distribution. EMF still sells Rossi 92s. Apparently, Navy Arms stopped selling them a couple of years ago. Legacy Sports International, LSI, did not have their contract renewed, so they are now selling Armi Sport/ Chiappa-produced 92 as "Pumas". LSI owns the Puma name. So, LSI's "PUMA"-branded 92s are now made in Italy.
