cartridge ID help needed

hope ya dont mind the "guess this cartridge" game... 1st one on left is a 30-06 just for reference. the second one was in a box(not original) that said russian 7.62, headstamp just has a couple very small numbers on outer rim..looks like a 17 and 36.the 3rd cartridge (round nose) was also in a box that said 7.65 but this seams odd because the headstamp says FYA on top HP on the bottom and 1928 on either side of the primer...last one seems to have the same case size and says MMAP 1946 anyone know what they are? thanks for any help!

    #2 looks like a 7.62x53 Russian developed in 1891 for the Mosin Nagant.

    3&4 may be 7.65 Mauser (Argentine).

    thanks swill, i'd say your right on with russian. did a search...looks exact! the others are hard to tell for sure, seems there are lots very similiar. thanks again!

    Hi,

    The 3rd and 4th cartridges are both 7.65x53mm Mauser or Argentine Mauser or a 7.65x53.5mm Mauser.

    The 3rd cartridge is a reload. "FYA" means "Fuciles y Ametralladoras" or translated from Spanish "for Rifles and Machine guns", meaning the cartridge could be used in both rifles and machine guns. These were contract rounds made by HP or Hirtenberger Patronen-, Z?ndh?tchen-und Metallwarenfabrik A.-G., Hirtenberg, Niederdonau, Austria in the late 1920's. Softpoint bullets were not part of the contract which is why this is a reload.

    The 4th cartridge looks like an original 7.65mm Mauser ball round. The headstamp doesn't sound complete though. FMMAP SF is F?brica Militar de Munici?n de Armes Port?tiles San Francisco, San Francisco, Argentina and was in operation during 1946. There are several other variations on this same headstamp, but I believe it to be Argentine and made in country and not contract. Please take a closer look at the headstamp and let me know if it some variation on the above if you are interested.

    Heavy, dont need to specific, they are just part of a ton of ammo I came across recently...been goin' through it all and selling most of it, I do not collect it and if someone shoots it........At least now I can say what I think it is...thanks again!
