UPS AMMO SHIPPING (FIRST TIME)

My first time shipping ammo today.. I have to go 45 miles away to a hub to ship 6 boxes of UMC .10mm ammo to a gentlemen in Louisiana. I am a FFL dealer with a storefront if that makes any difference. What can I expect when I get to the counter ? What do I need to ship ?

    Wrap it good, take it to a hub and not an independent shipping center, mark the box with bold letters ORD-M. This should be all you need to do, all i ever do anyway.

    that should read ORM-D

    do not know why but it is required by fed/postal regs.

    PLEASE !, take no offense but being an FFL holder, you should be knowledgeable of the ammo/firearms laws, rules & regulations

    Held FFL since 1960's but never shipped anything but firearms! Dont need a lecture just asking for help ...If you cant answer the question then mind your own business..

    According to my emails with UPS support you *should* be able to order an in-store pickup....

    Yes, you can give it to a UPS driver. You just can't take it to an independent shipping center.

    Yes. Instore pickup. If you are "in the business", and have to ship something out, do the same as with rifles, etc. No FFL is needed at either end!

    If you've done in-store shipping, just mark the package:

    ORM-D
    SMALL ARMS AMMUNITION

    Sidenote: make sure the package weight is less than 66 pounds. Over that weight "hazardous materials handling" is incurred, and is more costly, etc. Best, Joe

    MFI, drop me an e-mail and I will send you the graphics to print out your own ORM-D Small Arms Ammunition labels. Won't be in time for this shipment, but you will be set for the next.

    Perhaps you should all check out the UPS web site. A registered shipper can either request a pick up or can drop it off at any UPS store front. The ORM-D labels are white letters on a blue background. If you google them, you can find them on a web site and print them on your computer.

    Ship USP GROUND (air shipment of ammo a no-no) and list the contents as "Cartridges, small arms". A pickup will cost you a few $$, but so does driving to the hub.
