Broken LeFever

I have a 10ga LeFever double bbl. that is broken right where the barrel locks up.Not the hinge but the piece of steel that is on the barrels when you lock the barrels closed.My question is can it be fixed. I have the piece it is about half an inch long.I think at one time someone fired a high brass 10 ga. shell through it and it was to much for it. thanks for any help

  the piece can be silver soldered or tig welded, but you may have to retire the gun anyway.
