ruger gun serial numbers

I just inherited a ruger 6 22caliber gun. I am trying to find out when the gun was manufactured. Have checked the ruger website and there is no listing of the serial number. Any links to get info would be helpful.

  If you call Ruger records at 603-865-2424 they will give you the exact date of shipment along with a free factory letter if you ask nicely

  thank you sir for that reference site, i was a Ruger nut from the beginning, my "Old Model" Rugers were made in the first or second year of mfgr., sadly my "Old Model" Blackhawk - .44 Caliber (manufactured from 1956 to 1962) a 3 digit S/N kept loosing the ejector rod housing, when i first bought it i shot it about 25-30 rounds when the ERH fell off, the silver soldering just was not sufficient, i returned it to the factory three times for that problem (back during the good ol days when we could buy/sell ship guns thru the U.S. Mail system without .gov interference) the last time they cut about two fine threads and silver soldered it in place, when i sold the gun i gave the letter i received after the last repair to the buyer, i wonder where the revolver is today ?
