357 ruger

I have a 357 stainless ruger with a six in barrell. I has (Made in the 200th year of Liberty) stamped on the side. the gun is in fair condition. Does anyone know a price range it could be worth?

    I have a 1996 Ford Pick up, blue in color. Do you know a price range of how much it might be worth?

    Ruger made several different stainless models in 1976 with six inch barrels. Police Service Six, Speed Six, Security Six, New Model Blackhawk. They are all different prices.

    Secondly, your condition of "Fair" leaves much to be desired. Condition can alter values by three or four times as much or less.
    Pictures would help.

    The Liberty roll mark about the 200th year of liberty usually adds a few dollars premium but cannot in itself make up for a condition issue.


    All that being said, with the information you have provided, best guess is between $50 and $200.

    What do you mean by "fair"? Usually guns described in "fair" condition are pretty beat up.

    At least tell us the gun model, since it makes a pretty big difference which one you have. (EG the single-action guns can be worth more).

    The premium year is only valuable to collectors, who would not really care for a gun that is in less than premium condition. So in this case, its not going to add much to the value.

    As to general prices, I'll have to disagree a bit with Dan.

    In my opinion, any stainless steel .357 Ruger revolver with 6" bbl in functional condition is likely to be worth at least $200, and even the lower-end models can command a bit more than that.

    If yours is a single-six with adjustable sights in good condition it could still be worth $300-350, but again, that's just a wild guess.

    When I say fair condition the ejector rod is a little warped but not enough to effect operation of it other than that pretty good shape.It is a security-six model with black rubber grips.

    Even with a warped rod, if all else is good I would place a value of $300-$400 on it. Pictures would help even more. Rugers seem to hold value good, at least the ones I see for sale do.

    When I bought my Security Six back in '78, it sold for $196.50 new.

    If it is damaged and you go to the trouble and expense of sending back to Ruger, they will generally repair it for free and ship it back to you. If not, they will almost certainly be cheaper than anyone else to repair it and it will be done correctly.
