dan wesson model 15
hi i have a dan wesson model 15 357 magnum with changable barrels . but it don 't look like all the other ones i see for sale . all my barrels have a tail on them . why ? and can i get more barrels ? what could it be worth it has 3 barrels 2".4". 6 ". thanks mike

i have a dan wesson model 15 with interchangable barrels.
here's the problem
all the model 15 pistols i've seen have straight barrels
mine takes the L shape one like the model 12 takes.
what is the deal with this pistol ?
it's a model 15 357 mag . i have 3 barrels but they all look like model 12 barrels.
any info would be great.

The early 15's had what some call the "PORK CHOP" barrels.

Model 11(fixed sight) and 12 (adjustable sights) had pork chop barrel shrouds and external nuts on the barrel, I think they were 1971 - 1973
Model 14 (fixed sights) and Model 15 (adjustable sights) early models (Pre 1975 if I remember right) had internal barrel nuts and pork chop shrouds.
Model 14 (fixed sights) and Model 15 (adjustable sights) post 1975 ( think) had the more commonly seen straight shrouds in standard, Vent rib, and Heavy (full lug) combinations.
I'm curious why you were certain your model is a Model 15 since I have never seen a model 15 marked. Typically all Dan Wesson put on their guns was "Monson, Mass" SN and caliber.
I don't think it makes any difference in their shootability although the "pork chop" barrel models are not as popular and thus not selling for as much as the straight barrel. With three barrels yours owuld be desirable though, CZ is not making these style barrels as they are with the straight shrouds.
