Crown on Sako AV
can anyone tell me was the original crown on the Sako AV a recessed target crown or was it a standard crown that the old remingtons etc use to use kind of rounded at the end of barrel??

Mark- The factory crowns on Sakos vary a bit but they are not recessed on the AV. More of what you are calling standard crowns- Mike 0 -

I have a Sako AV in 7mm Rem mag sitting right next to me, just put it up for auction on GB last night. The crown is real flat, no recess at all, I noticed it when I first picked the gun up, looks different.

recessed target crown sounds like it was recrowned. Probably shoots better because of it. MHO
does it look something like this?? this is a recrowned rem788
