Is 32 Long Colt and 32 S&W Long interchangable?

    Is there a difference betweem 32 auto ammo and 32 long ammo? Or are they the same caliber?

    How many other variations of the 32 is there and is there any difference in the ammo or can any 32 fire any 32 ammo?

    I think that the only real difference in the 32s is the 32 H&R, which is a magnum. I've never heard of it called 32 long, but logically it could be what you are talking about. Designed for revolver use only if I recall

    .32 S&W long (also called .32 Colt New Police) is rimmed and a totally different from the .32 acp. There are automatic target pistols chambered for the .32 S&W long like my Benelli

    But generally speaking this is a revolver cartridge for use in wheelguns like my S&W Model 31

    There are several different .32 caliber handgun cartridges, some of which are identical and simply use a different trade name, and some are totally different cartridges. Many of these .32 caliber handgun cartridges are obsolete.

    32 auto is rimless or slightly with a rim but with a deep extractor groove designed for semi auto pistols with cartridges loaded in a Magazine Then we have 32 S&W as well as 32 S&W LONG now on top of that we have 32short and 32long COLT as well as 32 HER MAG and also an even longer 32 I think made by Hornady. All of these are rimmed cartridges if rimmed cartridges put on flat surface and then rolled will roll in a large circle. I STRONGLY suggest use the cartridge the pistol was designed for.

    The 32 Auto is also known as the 7.65 in Europe.
