S&W 27-2 6" nickel vs Colt series'70 .45 nickel

Trade info needed here. Are the values of these close? S&W is at 98% factory wood display box,tools. Colt, all original at 90-95%, no box,2 clips. Thoughts please?

  It comes down to personal preferences, but i would prefer the Mod 27.

  I would go for both of them. They are both very nice, and that is a very hard decision to make of one over the other.

  I like the revolver you mentioned, because it does "the revolver thing" very well.
  I like the auto you mentioned, because it does "the auto thing" very well.
  
  You obviously have one of the firearms..and you want the other. Cost aside, (which would be close) which one would you rather have sitting in your cabinet tonight? That's the bottom line.
  
  Very difficult question to answer, like "Van Gogh vs Rembrandt".
  
  Can you swing an outright purchase? Just some thoughts. Best, Joe

  I have the nickel 6" Model 27 with the goodies, been a while since I bought it but my guesstimate on $$$ is $650.00 or so. The prices I see on nickel Colt 70 series is all over the place, but my take on it is that the 1911 is worth maybe a strong $100.00 more than the 27?

  Keep what you got and buy the other. I have a md27 that is 50 years old, and even if the "book" says $750, it won't be going anywhere!
