.38 S & W SPECIAL CTG

I have a 38 S.& W. SPECIAL CTG nickel plated revolver with 7 patents dating from May 21,1895 to Sept.14,1909. The serial # 165xxx.I can find no model # on the gun anywhere. The handgrips are orig. pearl.
It has a 6" barrel. I removed the grips and found no hidden markings.
My grandfather found this in a ditch in the early to mid 1900's.
Courious to know any info,and possible value,if anyone could help?

  You have a 38 Special Hand Ejector M&P, made from 1909-1915.
  With out pictures showing condition, it is hard to give a value.
