Iver Johnson 32 pistol

would like additonal information on this pistol it belonged to my dad. It is an Iver Johnson 32 Pistol SN B 98 478. I want to frame it and give it to my son. Possibly buy another pistol, I just would like to frame as matched pair. Any idea as to the value of this one and the cost of purchasing another?

    the B letter code was used on the small frame 32 S&W caliber second model safety automatic hammerless revolver between 1897 and 1902. in order to give a year of manufacture i will need to know the patent date markings. look for the patent date marking either on the top of the barrel, the left side of the barrel or the bottom of the butt strap.

Main serial number location on left side of grip frame grips must be removed to see. The Second Model features a double top post barrel latch, flat leaf hammer spring and two cross pins in the lower frame.

    the longer barrel were an extra cost option but usually do not add much to the value maybe $5.00 to $10.00
