Adjustable Choke

My neighbor has an old Sears & Roebuck bolt action shotgun which I know by itself isn't worth all that much, but it has an adjustable choke on the barrel that I've never seen before. Does this affect the value of the gun much?

  The polychoke device was popular before screw in choke tubes.
  
  Big thing on your shotgun is to make sure it isn't on the recall list - there used to be a good bounty on them, not so much now....
  
  Gun isn't too valuable anyway, so I don't think the polychoke will change that.

  The external adjustable choke was sold under several brands- we just called them "dial-a-duck". They were usually on utility grade shotguns- shooters, not collectors (altho some folks DO collect JC Higgins and Ted Williams guns)
  
  There were several models of the 12 g ONLY Sears bolt actions that were under a safety recall buyback- which is why you find so mmany of these missing the bolt- buyback was to send in the bolt, rendering gun non-functional. Recall is now down to a $50 Sears gift card. Run a Google for Sears shotgun recall.
