mauser 7mm worth what?

what is a mauser espanol modeleo 1893 worth do you think someone would trade me for a shotgun or a 10/22 it is in fair shape no major scratches or dents ammo is a pain to get for these and i want something that is cheaper to shoot

    The value of these rifles is almost totally dependant on condition. As you describe it, this piece would likely sell for less than $125. Several companies are making ammo for this rifle at prices comparable to other calibers. Considering the current situation, if you could trade for a 10/22 in good condition, you would be making a good swap.

    Is it in original military configuration, or has it been sporterized?
    If sporterized, the value has been severely diminished. But how much depending on how well done.
    BTW, the 7x57 Mauser is a dang good round.

    grimjeeper73...finding value in a weapon is like finding value in a car. Hard to judge value without photos. As you have learned, condition is the key. Like a car, do all the numbers match? What you have is a famous rifle in a great caliber, a rifle that shot Teddy Roosevelt and the Rought Riders up on San Juan and Kettle Hills and convinced the US military that we needed something like it, leading to the Springfield 1903. So, is that worth a 10/22? I love the two I have and they shoot great...just can't beat that old world German craftsmanship. What is the condition of your rifle's bore? You might find that cleaning up what you have will bring you lots of more joy (and $) in the future than a .22 rifle. Good shooting!

    Also, now is a really good time to get into reloading ( even pending the current primer shortage). I'm not thinking any bullets prices will go down except .308 and .223. Everything else will just sit on the shelves until it's bought out before ammo makers do more runs of them. The 7mm Mauser is an excellent round. Plenty of power for anything in North America and not a whole lot of recoil.

    Depends. An all matching long rifle is worth more than a run of the mill 10/22 but a thrashed non-matching carbine is worth less. We need more info.

    In that case, it all depends on the quality of sporterization. A true work of art made by a gunsmith will actually increase the value of the gun. A basement homejob will generally be worth rather less.

    I'd say a sporter is worth maybe $75 tops in the condition you describe.
