Tec-9 & 22 Barrel Removal

A fellow GB'er has offered to thread some barrels for me before it's too late. Anyone know how to disassemble these two beauties?

    I can't laugh at you too much because I also have one of those little trouble makers, fitted with a a forward grip making it an AOW and with the screw-on barrel extention

    This link give a good overview on how to take one of these things apart. Getting the bolt assembly back together is the trickiest part of the process. Back in the days of the old open bolt guns it was simple, but when the design had to be changed to a closed bolt it became more complicated. The rest of the diassembly/reassembly is pretty easy.

    Thanks for the replies guys. Good to hear from you again Mark & thanks for the link. Some folks thought I was trying to corner the market on these things about 5 years ago. They sure haven't lost any value! Yes, I have a screw-on forward grip and know it would probably be illegal to own one in the same house w/ a Tec-9 if I didn't have a Mac-10 SMG that can use the same grip. Hey, it's not paranoia if they really are out to get you!

    OK, I know how to disassemble one for cleaning. How do I remove the barrel from the upper receiver? That part wasn't covered by Furtkamp. Has anyone done this?

    you have to remove the trigger pack and receiver cover the pin that hold the barrel is the one that hold the top on one they are removed you have to press the barrel out what i used was a piece of board cut to fit the magazine well w/a hole cut out for the barrel to come through then i took a c-clamp and pressed the barrel out once you hear a popping noise (when it unseats) it will come right out

    ss, I was wondering about that cover pin. My Numrich catalog shows an exploded view. What I originaly thought was a long rivet actually is 2 what they call "cover axis" and a cover axis screw between them. How do these 2 outer pieces come out? Is the screw a socket head set screw and the 2 outer parts screw into it? They aren't slotted or anything. Maybe they just pry out.

    Any help appreciated.

    the cover axis screws are allen head screws im not sure what size though the allen wrench i use came with something i bought
    if you have an allen wrench key set you should be able to find the right size
