shotgun muzzle break

I have a Spas 12 with a muzzle break. There are no marks on the piece. It has a set screw that holds it on. The unique thing is that the end is oval with point that come up inside it. I've been told it is fairly expensive but would like to find out who made it.

    A photo would be helpful. I can grasp the idea of the oval opening on the attachment, but what does with point that come up inside it mean? I sounds to me like you have the so called "Duckbill" shot spreader, which was an accessory item offered by Franchi for the shotgun, which has a threaded muzzle to allow for various chokes and gas grenade launchers.

    They were on the market years ago, not a conventional muzzle brake. I believe they were called deverters, or some such thing. They altered the pattern of the shot from a rounded pattern to a flattened horizontal pattern. Supposedly in a combat or self defense situation this type of pattern would be more effective at longer ranges then the conventional rounded pattern.
