ID a scottish gunmaker

Hi, All First time here, I wanted to delv into the knowledge pool of enthusiasts. I have scottish Snaphaunce pistol dated 1626..ish not very clear with the initials JB on the side (see picture) Is there anywhere I can find a list of gunmakers from 17th century or are there any enthusiasts out there who will know the maker of it. Any info is much appreciated.

  Bill Curtis at AntiqueGuns dot com should be able to help. He's a published authority on antique UK weaponry and I believe his father was once the British Royal Armorer. He frequents the "Pre-1899" forum.
