22 mag and 22 wrf
hello fellas, have an interesting question that i need expert help on , i have herd, read, and been told by my gun expert that the 22m and the 22 wrf are as interchangeable as the 357 and 38 spc,although, not recomended to be used in a semi auto, i have a 96/22m lever ruger, and no one seams to know for sure if this is an option or not. right now at the existing ammo prices and availability of the 22wrf , this would be a plus for sage rats and plinking . thanks , rusobr2

The .22WRF may be safely fired out of a weapon chambered in .22 WMRF. 0 -
11b is correct (like shooting .22 shorts in a .22l.r.). note though that the bullet weight and velocity are different so you will have to resight the rifle. 0 -
But like 38 and 357, the wrf is shorter than the wmr, so you may have issues with feeding
FWIW I tried a few in my 93fv and it wasn't worth the cost savings. May be worth it if you need the load (1400fps 45grn lead w/ largeish metplat vs 1800fps 40grn jhp or fmj)0 -
The 22wrf makes the little North American arms mini-derringer a little more managable.
That is what I shoot in mine.

The 22 WRF can be safely fired (shot) in any firearm originally chambered for the 22 WMR, but not vice versa. Like others have mentioned, it a very similar to shooting a 38 Spl in a .357 chambered gun, or more similar, like shooting a 22 Short in a 22 Long Rifle chambered gun. 0 -
fellas, once again, i appreciate the help,(IWANNA) you'r right ,the extra cost for the 22wmr dosn't seem to hold water at all, but when we go sage ratten around here in central oregon, i have shot up to 500 rnds in a day , some guys even more, and the 22wrf(bullistically) still has enough knock down when you have to reach a bit more,thanks again guys, rusobr2 0
