How much recoil does a .338-378 have???
How good is the factory brake on a accumark .338-378? I am looking at buying one and am just wondering how much kick there is still left. Thanks.....

There are better muzzle brakes out there, esp the radial type from Dave Holland, DE from Shawn Carlock, Pain Killer from APS (Kirby Allen), etc ...

I have no experience with muzzle brakes, but I would offer this for your consideration. When you start to play around with rifles that recoil enough to be a significant concern, stock design and fit is a critical factor. For what it's worth I had a .338 Win. mag. with a stock that fit me like a glove and that rifle, with factory ammo, was MUCH more pleasant for me to shoot than a standard 30-06 with a stock design that didn't fit me at all. (FWIW; the standard (i.e. not classic) REm. 700 stock.) 0 -

Thanks a lot for your help, and the reason I was asking about the factory brake was because of some of my larger caliber guns i have installed the JP Howitzer brake and that brake I stand by all day it reduces recoil dramatically I can shoot my large calibers all day with that brake. The way it sounds I am going to have to take the factory brake off when i get the gun and have another JP installed by my gunsmith. Thanks again... 0
