S&W Mod. 61-2 Escort (.22lr)

I have been looking for a replacement barrel for this pistol for many months now and have not been able to find one. Does anyone know where I would be able to purchase a replacement?

    Smith only made the Escort for 3 years 1970-73 so I doubt they would still have barrels, but they would be a place to start.

    You might try "Numrich Arms" Gun Parts Corp, they specialize in old hard to find parts. ph 845-679-4867.

    I was looking at numrichs' site but that was one item for that pistol they didn't list---still might be a good idea to call them as they could always have one in stock at the last minute. Guess worst case you could always have a barrel made. Did ya lose it or is it damaged?

    The barrel was damaged at some point in time. I only recently just found it again after having not seen it in years.

    Might have to check the auction side and gun shows but I would bet it's gonna be a crapshoot--you may have to have a new barrel made and it probably won't be cheap.

    Just an idea, not sure if it will work...compare the barrel on a S&W 422 to one on an escort 61. The 422 was based on the M61 so it might be possible to modify a 422 barrel to fit your 61. Then again, maybe not.

    As ruger41 says, - call them and they may have a couple, but as they would only sell one every 10 years they won't bother to list it.
    I just went thru this, called about a couple parts that weren't listed, said they'd have a guy look for them in the obsolete parts bins. Got them in the mail 2 days later.

    How is it damaged? If it still lets the pistol operate you don't need to worry about accuracy. A five inch group at 5 yards is just about as good as a three incher.
