M1 Carbine Walnut Replacment Stock

I have a nice "shooter" M1 Carbine that I'd like to restore but still retain its "shooter" status. I want to replace the horribly beat up original stock (no cartouches present) with a newly manufactured walnut replacement of OEM dimensions. I don't want to replace the current stock with a well used beater or an expensive minty original. Seems like M1 Garand replacement stocks are readily available, but I cannot seem to find a source for carbine furniture. Can anyone recommend a good source or let me know if they have a stock for sale like the one I've described? Thank you.

    Boyds has a on line store and have M1 carbine stocks and hand guards.

    Check the auctions.Go to gun parts under rifle and then click on stocks and than type in M1 carbine and you should find new walnut stocks

    Emmett, checked Boyd's website and all they advertised was finished handguards, but they're out of stock.

    I'll keep watching GunBroker while waiting to see if anyone else chimes in.

    I just found out the CMP is selling repro M1 Carbine stocks make of American walnut. They are supposedly inletted, finished, with all the metal, and ready for a barreled action. Price is $144.99 plus shipping. Stock comes with a CMP cartouche.

    Anyone have any experience with the repro stocks CMP is selling? Can anyone comment on their quality or construction?

    Dupage also has walnut stocks for sale, ninety dollars, I cut, high wood no metal! Dupage has always been real good to deal with and I buy from them a lot. I have a M1 Garand stock I got from Boyd's and ever time I take it to the range I get comments on how great it looks! CMP is OK! I like no stamps on stocks so I leave their stuff alone, most of the M1 Grand stocks they sell are Boyd's with GI cut for end so I would imagine that this is where the carbine stocks came from.

    this is a CMP replacement stock set. fits perfect. comes with no real finish (laquer, poly etc) so it will "age" with normal handling.
