Can anyone tell me about the Russian Model AK47S in pristine original condition and what it may be worth, considering it's originality. and what year, years they were produced and what the S stands for

    I have not seen it yet as it is from an estate collection of guns that the owner passed away, and the brother is handling the sale of all the guns, all i was told that it was a russian model 47S and in perfect condition with 4 extra clips, i think 50 round, and 1500 rounds of amunition and he wants $1100.00 firm. I have first crack at all the guns before they get advertised he also has a new Para Ordanance P10 45 in the case with extra clips and holster for $400.00. but i want to find out some info on the AK 47 to make sure I am not paying too much for it. I will try to find out more info and post it.

    Not familar with a Russian Ak 47S, however, there WAS a fairly rare AKS 47- early metal underfolder stock. These are NFA full auto arms.

    I believe you are talking about the chinese ak-47s polytech legend. This is the colsest thing to a russian that was imported. It is a fully milled (not stamped) reciever. They came with a bayonet oil bottle sling and magazines with chrome followers. These guns are doing around $2500 new in the box.

    Buy them both! It's a super deal specially the AK 47S, with all the ammo that goes with it. If you have any doubts about this check the actual selling price of AK's on the two large net gun auctions. Also check the selling prices of the 7.62 X 39 ammo.

    The way things are going to hell in a handbasket nowadays in this country, if you don't want to keep either of the guns or the ammo. Wait 6 months and you will easily be able to double your money.

    Figure the ammo for the AK is worth 40-50c per round, so the downside risk for the rifle is small. My assumption is that, since the seller got the "Russian" part wrong, he probably got the "47S" part wrong, too. Even if it is a MAK-90 or some other common variety, it's at least an "OK" deal unless rusty or the bore is corroded.

    If it's really a Chicom Polytech Legend, you can celebrate.
